Holding Uncertainty

As I sit with the uncertainty of whether I can do my 4 month retreat into ‘Soulitude’ the day after my last day of practice I can feel a tingly sensation in my gut, the image is a whole lot of sparkly sand like particles wanting to scatter.

Holding Uncertainty – for me, at this moment is staying present to my senses telling me we could be heading into, out of, or continuing to bumble along in another global crisis. There are infinite possibilities at macro and micro levels. Each of us as individuals gaze at a maze of possibilities, quickly overwhelming to contemplate.

Holding uncertainty is like holding dry sand in the palms of our hands.

Moments and possibilities slipping through, inevitably. Grasp at one and lose a thousand others!

May we hold them gently and feel them drift through our capacity to grasp.

What can we do?!

…just do the next good thing.

It amazes me the best prescriptions for the AI wave just seem to be the same old ‘get yourself ahead of the curve’ – I wonder if that’s going to work with this one??

More and more we need each other and more and more that feels and is complicated in our alienating culture.

Our ancestors sipped and supped together by the fire. So simple. In our bones, we still know how to do this.

Take heart in fellowship where you can find it and create it, these are the real skills and experiences we need to cultivate in these times ahead.

Life is carrying us all, and will put us down somewhere…

…blessings on your way

Andrew
