Experience at Karuna Hospice Services

For several years I worked as a counsellor for people dying and bereaved. For my part in this, I wanted to get a more embodied sense of the reality of my life ending in order to grasp and appreciate my current life more fully. It is an incredible time to be with people when they are reflecting on their lives knowing it is coming to an end. Repeatedly, what seemed most important for people was 3 R’s -relationships, relationships and relationships! Relationship with themselves - reflecting on their dreams they pursued; reflecting on how they cared and gave to those they loved; and reflecting on what their legacy was for others.
